Junkyard Stocks Only the Best Skateboard Trucks

If the time has come to replace or upgrade your skateboard trucks, you are in the right place. The truck is possibly the most important part of your board. Often the most expensive part you will have to buy, it also lasts the longest and will long outlive your deck, wheels and favourite kicks. There are quite a few factors to consider when looking at trucks. Skateboard trucks sizes, their components, and what they are made of will make a big difference to your ride. At Junkyard, we have trucks for every type of skater.

Get To Know Your Skateboard Trucks

Skateboard trucks can have a few factors that you need to take into account, but which trucks are best for you? To start with, make sure the axle width of your trucks matches your deck, as the right width is of utmost importance. Next is to think about where you are skating. Standard skateboard trucks and wheels are usually sufficient, but there are options available for budget buying, or if you are looking for better quality.

We could not claim to stock all things skate if we didn’t include the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks. The top choices of trucks for the biggest names in Pro Skating are available at Junkyard.

Picking the Right Size

As mentioned, size is crucial. The most important thing here is that it should not be wider than your deck. There are guides available to help you match your deck and truck size, but don’t worry too much. In the product description of our trucks, we have included what size deck should be matched with them.

The next thing to consider is the size of your wheels. This will determine the height of your skateboards truck. There are three different heights: Low: 50 to 53mm wheels, Mid: 53 to 56mm wheels and High for bigger wheels. Low skateboard trucks offer the most stability, best for street and park skating.

Skateboard Trucks Highs and Lows

The most versatile type of truck is the standard kingpin truck, which can be used for any type of skateboarding. Adjustments can be made by tightening or loosening the screws, so you can customize the way your board turns. These are the best skateboard trucks for street skating, bowls, and skateparks. Longboard trucks (reverse kingpin) are best for carving and cruising, or skating fast down hills. They're simple to adapt to almost any skating style.

You are spoilt for choice with Independent trucks. We have block and hollow trucks, kingpin and longboard. We also stock Tony Hawk’s preferred truck, the Indy Titanium 149 as many signature trucks as well.

Don’t Make Light of the Weight

Hollow kingpins and/or hollow axles are available on many trucks to reduce weight. A little more pop, a little more flick, and a little less weight in your backpack are the result of these trucks. Skateboarding with lighter trucks can offer benefits to any type of skating. But again, this is a matter of personal preference. Aluminium is both strong and light and available in all skateboard trucks sizes.

You shouldn’t have to compromise on your skateboard trucks. You won't have to here at Junkyard. Sign up for our newsletter and be the first to get the low down on our fantastic sales on all things skate.
